Road to South Africa is a photography and documentary project driven by one ambition: to attend the 2026 Lifesaving World Championships in Port Elizabeth and tell the story of the competition from the inside.
Working as closely as possible with the athletes, I want to document their performances, but also everything the results cannot show: the preparation, the sacrifices, the pressure, the emotions and the human stories unfolding around every race.
Through photography and video, the goal is to create powerful, authentic images that bring the World Championships to life far beyond the finish line.

Who are the packages for?
The packages are exclusively available to athletes competing in the Open category at the 2026 World Championships. For organisational and logistical reasons, they are not available to Youth athletes.
What does the coverage include?
Your coverage will be tailored to your chosen package and the events in which you are competing. Before the competition, I will contact you to discuss your schedule and organise the coverage as effectively as possible.
When will I receive my content?
Your complete content will be delivered after the competition through a private online gallery. The Full Story package also includes the delivery of 3 to 5 photos each evening during the competition.
Can I share the photos and videos on social media?
Yes. The delivered content may be used on your personal and sporting social media accounts. Please credit “Brice Philaire” or “@brice_philaire” whenever the content is published.
What happens if the €2,500 goal is not reached?
If the minimum goal of €2,500 is not reached by 18 October 2026, the trip will not be possible. Everyone who has purchased a package or contributed to the project will receive a full refund.
What happens if I am no longer able to compete?
Please contact me as soon as possible. Refund or package adjustment options will depend on the date of your request and any costs already incurred. Full details are provided in the Terms and Conditions of Sale.
How do I choose a package?
Select the package that best suits your needs, complete the form with your information and provisional competition schedule, then proceed to the secure Stripe payment page.
Can I support the project without purchasing a package?
Yes. You can make a contribution towards the trip by selecting “Support the project”. Every contribution helps cover flights, accommodation, local transport, accreditation and production costs.
